Mathematical modelling of real-life processes often requires the estimation of unknown parameters. Once the parameters are found by means of optimization, it is important to asses the quality of the parameter estimates. In this paper we describe how the quality of these estimates can be analyzed and this methodology is applied to study the model for the genetic regulatory network in the Drosophila embryo during the early developmental stages.
