Traction: The co-creation space

The Co-creation Space is a “Private social network” for community opera co-creation that supports media communication and reflection with diverse communities. Existing tools either focus on storing, editing, or sharing media, whereas the CCS space supports all three, so that professional and non-professional artists can have conversations about production content such as music, costumes, and poster representations. Together, these feature support a dynamic co-creation cycle: First, sharing of raw creative ideas in an online safe space, by creating text and media posts, and exploring others’ posts Then, discussion and personal reflection on the meaning of creative work, through sharing, tagging and annotating media in a private environment Finally, the synthesis of this work into high level patterns - through emoji reactions and comments, that allow community members to get to similar conclusions within the artistic process. Designed through a user-centred process, the CCS supports collaborators with different technology, language, and accessibility needs.
