In this report we present the possible solutions for architecture for the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of Trakia University – Stara Zagora. Several possible implementations for the system are reviewed and compared. The first one takes into consideration the use of regular web servers, connected to databases, along with a backup system. The second one is based on consolidated hardware, using blade servers, on which virtual servers are deployed. The backup system is an iSCSI-based Storage Area Network. The considerations for the selected solution are presented, along with its advantages and disadvantages.
